"What's wrong?" he asked with apprehension.
Without replying, she spun him on the vanity stool so that he could see himself in her mirror. He saw a very pretty young girl staring back at him. He started in nervous surprise and embarrassment, then realized that the pretty young girl was himself! It had been ages since Connie had looked at himself in a mirror, especially not since he had been dressed as a girl by his doting parents.
"Hey, that's me!" he exclaimed with amazement.
"It most assuredly is, little girl," Mrs. Brewster agreed huskily. "And not only that, but you're a beautiful little girl too!" To herself, 'I expected no less!'
"I... I... I'm..." he stammered.
"You're beautiful!"
