Maggie looked genuinely stunned. "Why ever not?"
"Because they're... they're... He stopped to think for a moment. "Because they're heels, that's why not. I am not used to heels and I could twist my ankle or ever affect my bad leg. I know you probably have nothing else to fit or suit me, but I really do not mind walking about bare footed," he told her, hoping to appease her without offending her.
"... I know they look a little bit feminine but, there is only you and I here, after all."
" 'Look a little bit feminine.' Geez," Will thought to himself. Her reasoning didn't all seem to add up however well she presented it. He had no counter argument at hand that moment.
He looked to the floor and blushed in submission. "Well, if I do wear them, will you please call Cheryl and ask her to get some things over to me?"
"You know she cannot bring anything over here, Chicken, just in case the police are tailing her," Maggie responded.
"Yes, yes, I realize that, but she can wrap them up and mail them here. Would you phone her and ask her, please?
